Luxor excursion by bus (The classic cultural program)
If you want to see the real face and monumental history of Ancient Egypt, Luxor is the best choice. On this one-day tour we travel by comfortable, air-conditioned bus, so you can rest during the round trip.
Detailed itinerary of the program:
Departure: We pick you up at your hotel entrance around 4:30 in the morning. The trip takes about 4 hours.
Breakfast break: We will make a longer stop around 7:00 AM, where you can have a leisurely breakfast and freshen up. Then we will head through the Eastern Desert to the Nile Valley, arriving in Luxor at approximately 9:30 AM.
Karnak Temple: We start the day on the east bank of the Nile in one of the largest ancient religious complexes in the world. You can walk through the famous Hypostyle Hall, where you can truly feel the grandeur of history among the huge, sky-high stone columns.
Lunch: After an eventful morning, we will have lunch at a cozy local restaurant (included in the price).
Colossi of Memnon: We cross to the west bank of the Nile, where we first see two monumental seated statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III.
Valley of the Kings: We enter the mysterious burial place of the pharaohs, where you can explore three different, richly decorated pharaoh tombs carved deep into the rock from the inside.
Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut: We travel to El Deir El Bahary to admire the impressive, terraced temple of Hatshepsut, one of the most important pharaohs of ancient Egypt, at the base of the cliff walls.
Craft workshops: During the program, you will have the opportunity to visit a traditional papyrus and perfume making workshop, where these ancient crafts will be demonstrated.
At the end of the day, the bus will take you safely back to your hotel.
“Practical Info:”
How long does it take? The entire program takes about 15-16 hours (you will be back at the hotel around 8:00 PM).
“What to bring with you?” Comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, a hat/cap against the sun, and a sweater for the climate on the bus.
Breakfast: The evening before departure, ask for a free breakfast box at your hotel reception and bring it with you!
Transfer surcharge: If your accommodation is outside Hurghada (e.g. Sahl Hasheesh, Makadi, Soma Bay, Safaga), due to the distance, the transfer price is +5 euros/person.
